Hong Kong International Stationery Fair

News - 2018/7/6

The Hong Kong International Stationery Fair, jointly organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, will be welcoming its 19th edition at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre next year from 7 – 10 January.

The four-day fair will attract an estimate of around 260 exhibitors from across the globe, and more than 21,000 international visitors. Exports grow as demand from the Chinese mainland rises Hong Kong stationery exports are regaining momentum after experiencing a setback in 2015.  In 2017, a 4% increase was recorded and the export volume remains steady in the first quarter of 2018.

The Chinese mainland, which recorded a 16.7% increase in export value last year, remains the major market, accounting for more than half of Hong Kong’s total stationery exports in 2017. World leading statistics company Statista also showed optimism towards the stationery market as they expect global revenue for the “Hobby and Stationery” segment to reach USD176 billion in 2018, and an annual growth rate of 9.6% between 2018 and 2022.

Distinct product zones and key pavilions for an enhanced sourcing experience The upcoming fair will be organised into five distinct product zones, namely DIY Supplies, Gift Stationery, Kids & School, Pen & Paper and Smart Office, for an easy-to-navigate sourcing environment. Another element that adds value to the fair, is support from the industry across Asia. The fair will continue to feature pavilions from Korea and Taiwan in cooperation with renowned industry associations, the Korea Stationery Industry Cooperative (KSIC) and the Taiwan Association of Stationery Industries.
